  • Thank you to our Orange House parents for joining us at another great Open Morning today - the last of this academic year. First, parents met with Assistant Head of School, Stewart Findlay, Dr Jim Panton, and Orange House Tutors Tom Lemon and Joanna Whitehouse over refreshments in Cafe 1815. Afterwards they attended a variety of lessons including Science, Maths, MFL , Art, Music, Drama, History and Humanities and definitely learned a thing or two. We love opening our school to parents like this and look forward to lots more next year! #WellingtonIntellectual #WellingtonInclusive

  • Our Lunchtime Lectures in Senior School are a great opportunity for staff and students to explore some very challenging and divisive questions. Today Mira, Mikki and Ivy in Year 9 asked "Does human experimentation deserve a place in Science?" The girls presented a persuasive argument, illustrated with examples from many areas. Thank you, girls. What a great way to spend Monday lunchtime - feeding our intellect! #WellingtonIntellectual

  • Wellington College secured an enthralling victory over Singapore International School on Saturday 18 May to earn the plaudits as the top international school Table Tennis Academy in Bangkok. The successful outcome was secured in the penultimate game won by Punn (Year 4). The top performers for the Wellington Dukes, with three wins each, were TT (Year 7), Mattie (Year 7), Gabriel (Year 5), and Raphael (Year 4). There were also two wins apiece, plus a doubles victory, for the team’s youngest players, Sean and Paman (both Year 3), who were making their debut in this fixture. Next for the Wellington team will be a match against the Prasarnmit International School Academy on 6 June, before the ITC Global Tournament in Central Bangna on 15 June, with 15 Wellington players entered for this prestigious event. Table Tennis at Wellington has developed at an incredible pace over the last 18 months, under the expert guidance of our Thailand National Team Coach, Pla, and the leadership of our Head of Table Tennis, Dr Peter Church. #WellingtonSports #WellingtonInspired

  • As we continue our occasional series Inspired by Wellington, we introduce Mr Jamie Sammells, Deputy Head of Senior School. Mr Scammells has been at Wellington since 2020 and has been inspiring and nurturing our students both in the Physics lab and around School in his leadership role. Mr Scammells came to Wellington Bangkok after teaching in both the UK and in East Africa. Mr Scammells draws on his previous careers of musician and producer as he also helps support and develop our Rock Band enrichment group. His philosophy is summed up as follows - “I am passionate about teaching and learning and particularly teachers working together to improve themselves and the students in their care. I always encourage children to ask questions about the world and help them to believe that anything is possible for them, no matter where they start.” #WellingtonInspired #WellingtonInclusive

  • On Saturday 11 May, we were proud to host the annual GBAC All-Star Football fixture here at Wellington on our lovely Front Field. Select players from schools within the conference, chosen based on their playing ability and outstanding attitude, come together to form representative teams. The schools from the East and West of Bangkok compete against each other in this prestigious event. Being chosen for this fixture is testament to the hard work and dedication players have invested in the sport. We would like to congratulate our following players for being selected - Luka, Miki, Peppin, William, Jonathan, Ton Aor, Maple, Lanna, Poon, Nobby and Kim. Well done to Nobby who was also nominated Most Valuable Player of the Under 18 boys game. It was great to see so many of our parents here to support our amazing players. Thank you, as always, to Ms Helen Mathews, Director of Sports and all her team. We really appreciate all that you do! More pics in the newsletter this week! #WellingtonSports #WellingtonInspired #GBACAllStars
